Ending 1

Penelope: This is it. This is the ending!

Autumn: Look how far you’ve come!

Hunter: And to think, you almost stayed the same.

Jax: We knew you could do it. We believed in you. Congratulations!

Player: This is the end? This is what I’ve been waiting for? I thought it’d be much worse.

Ending 2

Player: It's so much more quiet here. I can't find a light switch.

Mystery: Hello?

Player: Hello? Who's there?

Mystery: Can you hear me?

Player: Yes, I can hear you.

Mystery: I guess no one can hear me.

Player: No! I can hear you!

Mystery: This is the end, isn't it?

Player: Is it?

Mystery: This is the end. I've go to the ending.

Player: No, I don't think it is. There's a lot more that we have to get done. And there's a lot more to do.

Mystery: The end is a lot colder than I thought it was going to be.

Player: No, don't say that. I don't want to the ending to be cold.

Mystery: It's a lot darker too. I though it'd be brighter.

Player: Don't say those things! Everything will be what you say it is!

Mystery: Let's try this switch.

Ending 3

Caretaker: There's a lot more to get done.

Player: Is there?

Caretaker: Of course. You've known this for a long time. You've been procrastinating.

Player: I didn't think I was.

Caretaker: But you knew you were. That's the thing. You didn't think you were procrastinating, but you knew you were. You just couldn't admit it. Now there's no more time. Now you've run out of time.

Player: No, there's still more time.

Caretaker: I'd like to think that too.

Player: But I do think it. If I think it, it'll be true, right?

Caretaker: Is that what you've been telling yourself now? That everything will be different if you think it will be different? That doesn't make any sense.

Player: But it does, right?

Caretaker: No. I said it doesn't make any sense.

Player: Are they waiting for me?

Caretaker: Who?

Player: My friends. Everyone that was counting on me.

Caretaker: No one was counting on you. You were counting on yourself. Everyone had a choice, just like you. You just made the wrong one.

Player: I made the right choice.

Caretaker: Don't think that. You know that you're wrong.

Player: How much longer?

Caretaker: "How much longer" what?

Player: How much longer do I have?

Caretaker: I told you. You have no time. The sand ran out.

Player: But I can feel it. I can feel that I have more time. You're just not letting me use it.

Caretaker: I am letting you use it, you're just not using it.

Player: So this is the end?

Caretaker: This is your end. This isn't their end.

Ending 5

Penelope: We'll see you another time, Lukas.

Casper: Yeah, don't think we're all leaving or something. I mean, yeah, we're leaving forever, but we'll see you again. At some point.

Jax: Don't think we'll never come back. We'll come back, we all promise.

Autumn: You'd be stupid to think that we wouldn't.

Penelope: And even if we didn't, we'll never forget about you. You'll always be in the back of all our minds.

Casper: Yeah!

Ending 4

Caretaker: There’s still more to get done.

Player: I know.

Caretaker: Are you going to try again?

Player: …

Player: Yeah.

Monitor: Beep.

Ending 6

???: You came.

Player: I didn’t think I would be able to get here in time.

???: Well obviously you were able to. If you couldn’t you wouldn’t be here right now.

Player: Well, yeah.

???: I’ve waited a really long time for this.

Player: You have?

???: What else would I have to wait for?

Player: Something a lot more interesting, maybe.

???: You traveled so far to see me.

Player: It was a hell of a journey.

???: But you still made it.

Player: I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

???: Is this it then?

Player: What is it?

???: The end?

Player: If you want it to be.

???: Well maybe I don’t want it to be.

Player: I wouldn’t have it any other way then.

???: You were right about everything.

Player: No, I was very, very wrong.

???: You were right about all of the important stuff.

Player: Like what.

???: That it’d hurt.

Player: Anyone could have told you that.

???: I didn’t think it would hurt.

Player: Well that’s why you did it. But you survived, right?

???: If this isn’t the end, then we’ll never know.

Player: But you can make it be the end.

???: Yeah, I can, can’t I?

Player: You tell me.

???: Just a step forward.

Player: And then another step after that.

???: And another step after that.

Player: And another step after that.

???: And another step after that.

Player: It’s a lot easier than you make it out to be.

???: I know.

Player: Pretty soon you’ll be going back to that building.

???: Pretty soon you’ll be going back to school.

Player: Pretty soon you’ll grow up.

???: Pretty soon things will change.

Player: Pretty soon you won’t miss him so much.

???: Pretty soon you won’t miss her so much.

Player: Pretty soon no one will have to watch you from the window while you kick that ball around.

???: Pretty soon you won’t need to be told not to play out in the street.

Player: Pretty soon you won’t need anyone to hold your hand when you go somewhere.

???: Pretty soon you’ll study on your own the night before a test.

Player: Pretty soon you won’t need stories read to you before bed.

???: Pretty soon you’ll make your own bed before school.

Player: Pretty soon you won’t need someone to stand with you while you wait for the bus.

???: Pretty soon no one will have to wait on the porch when school is over.

Player: Pretty soon you’ll be packing your own lunch.

???: Pretty soon you won’t stare at dad’s picture for so long.

Player: Pretty soon you’ll run your own bath.

???: Pretty soon you’ll remember to pick up your toys.

Player: Pretty soon you won’t just be a kid anymore.

???: Pretty soon you’ll be walking on your own.

Ending 7

Number Neighbor (Phone): Hey, you finally picked up!

Player: I picked up the phone because you called me. That’s what people do when they get called.

Number Neighbor (Phone): Of course, I know that! But I’m saying you finally picked up. I’ve called many times and you haven’t ever picked up. What took you so long?

Player: What do you mean? I’ve never seen any of your calls.

Number Neighbor (Phone): Yes you have, I bet you have. You’re just ignoring me. That’s what you’ve always been doing.

Player: I don’t know who you are, so even if I was ignoring you that would only make logical sense for me to do that. Why would I pick up the phone if the person calling me is a complete stranger?

Number Neighbor (Phone): I mean, you picked up the phone just now, didn’t you?

Player: That’s besides the point.

Number Neighbor (Phone): No it’s not. You can’t just make an argument like that and then circle back around like nothing matters.

Player: What are you even saying?

Number Neighbor (Phone): Don’t try and act like you don’t understand me. I’m your neighbor. You have to understand me. That’s how this works. We’re made to understand each other.

Player: I’m still confused.

Number Neighbor (Phone): I’m sure it’s very hard to understand. But to put it simply, there’s many of us, and we’re all number neighbors, just like you and me are number neighbors. So there’s lots of us. And we’re all over. I don’t know when the others will call you, but they will, eventually.

Player: Why are they going to call me?

Number Neighbor (Phone): So that you know who all your number neighbors are. That way you know that there’s others that are out there.

Player: What do I say to them?

Number Neighbor (Phone): That’s not my place to say. You’re supposed to figure that out for yourself.
